If it quacks like a duck...

During Monday night’s Liberty County Hospital District meeting, board members unanimously approved lowering the level at which a resident of the district can be approved for help from the district from 150% of the federal poverty guidelines to
100%. It begs the question as to why the guideline was ever set so high to begin with. Do Bruce Stratton and his gumba buddies, who have pulled all of the games with the double election and the moving the hospital lines and the forming private entities, realize we are now in the toughest economic times that many of us have ever experienced? Is this the time this Chicgo-like group plans to continue to try and force this little personal project of theirs down our collective throats?

According to Board President Bruce Stratton, decreases in the tax revenue have caused a drop of about $400,000 in funds for the hospital district. So, rather than try to appear conservative and posture yourselves in the media as some kind of board that is looking out for the people, why not get us out of this mess and end this taxing district? If you want to do the right thing, do it full throttle, not half ass. Your hero, Barack, has health care policies in place to cover most of the people you say you were so concerned about, so end this farce. There is no point in us paying for Obama’s scheme and yours too.

But that is not going to happen. Stratton and Pickett and all those who planned and plotted this scheme are die hard believers that whatever little deal they are smart enough and brazen enough to cook up that they can get passed by us and they deserve to reap the benefits. They are opportunists. They look and act like liberal selfish con men to some of us and therefore, if they quack like a duck they must be...

This bunch of ducks also smell like a fish. With the decrease in tax revenue, they will likely want to raise our property taxs. These people never stop to think about the property owners that are already loaded down with taxs. When you work, you pay taxs, when you spend your earned money, you pay sales taxs. When you have saved your money and retire, you pay taxs on your Social Security and taxs on intrest that your money has earned. Then you are now asked to pay taxs for this phony Hospital Scam. When will it ever stop? I can't think up any other Scams that these idiots can come up with, to rob us of some more tax money. (D.B.COOPER)

I agree with the proposition that the earliest voters can weigh in on this is to defeat Pickett at the polls and elect Dennis Beasely. This will send our message a little louder than ever before. That should embolden either a legal or political approach to rid ourselves of this taxing entity.

Three words come to my brother's mind when he thinks of Bruce Stratton, attorney at Law, and all of his maneuvers involving the hospital district: class action lawsuit. Only one comes to mine: election.

Stratton reminds me of Obama. He got something passed in a vote that is very unpopylar with the masses, but he chooses to ignore the hatred he has aroused toward himself because his ultimate goal is for the common good - a local hospital near us all in case of emergencies.

Nineteen minutes . Nineteen minutes by ambulance from my father's house to a much better hospital in Baytown. Twenty two minutes from my house by ambulance to a much better hospital in Beaumont. If you live in Tarkington or Cleveland or most of Dayton you will not be brought to this hospital. This hospiat; is being kept around for the privileged few who have plenty of money to pay taxes and for those who have a scheme to actually make money off of it.

Please Mr. Stratton, show a little more respect for my husband as he works to feed our family.

You people are a bunch of quacks if you ask me. What is this the third area in the last five years your Head Duck has gone into and started questioning the political leadership just because tey are Democrats. That sounds like a quack. No question Ray "daffy Duck" was attacked just as his feet hit the ground here. We have computers here. As soon as you mentioned running against Mr. Brown you were googled. Your a damn terrorists duck who uses your investigation skills to drop foul air from out of no where. I am sick of hearing you complain about how people in power ganged up on you. you are the attacker. Anything they did was to shut your big fat quacking bill. Go back and terrorize Democrats in Missouri or in Oregon or some other place and leave this place before you are unable to leave.

I wouldn't care if I were going to DIE before I got to the hopsital, I wouldn't go to ANY hospital in Libety County. My wife had a riding accident 4 years ago and I drove her to the hospital in Cleveland. It took them over an hour just to get x-rays of her arm (broken jsut below the shoulder) and all they gave her for the pain was a Tylenol.

We had a choice between the Cleveland Regional Medical Center and the Memorial-Livingston Hospital for her surgery. We chose Memorial-Livingston. Great staff and great care, unlike CRMC whe didn't seem to care at all.

Teh Liberty County Hospital is a joke along with County government in general.

my husband was in cleveland hospital for 5 days was sent home with mecclazine and told that he had vertigo. Told us to go to our primary care and get several test because the machines at the hospitol were broke. Our Dr. went ballistic cause it was going to take weeks to get appt and test done. on day 6 I took him to St Lukes in the woodlands within 1 hr they knew he had a stroke 6 days ealier and started administering blood thinners ect. He was there a week. Cleveland tried to bill me. By the time I got thru with them they wiped the slate clean and refunded my E.R. paymeny back to me.
