Democrats to register ammo purchases

Support - NRA/ILA

Monday to Democrat legislation has been drafted and put forward that would effectively ban online or mail-order purchases of ammunition in the aftermath of the mass shooting at an Aurora, Colorado, movie theater.

The proposal, crafted by Democratic Senator Frank Lautenberg and Democratic Representative Carolyn McCarthy, aims to restrict the ability of Americans to buy unlimited quantities of ammunition over the Internet, or by mail order, anonymously.

The new legislation, dubbed the Stop Online Ammunition Sales Act, rests on four pillars, according to Lautenberg's office:

1. It requires anyone selling ammunition to be a licensed dealer.

2. It requires ammunition buyers who are not licensed dealers to present photo identification at the time of purchase, effectively banning the online or mail order purchase of ammo by regular civilians.

3. It requires licensed ammunition dealers to maintain records of the sale of ammunition.

4. It requires licensed ammunition dealers to report the sale of more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition to an unlicensed person within any five consecutive business days.

The NRA's official stand is that we have more than enough gun laws on the books already and that the Democrats are soon to draft legislation to ban or confiscate all weapons when there is another shooting.

Gun owners are encouraged to contact their congressman and voice concerns over this ammunition grab the Democrats are forcing upon us.

So the Democrats want to crack down on ammo sales because some nut case bought ammo?

That would not have changed anything except another Democrat grab.

We all knew they were coming for our ammo, guns next.

Pretty soon our guns will be nothing more than worthless metal clubs.

Democrats are some sorry assed people.

Democrats keep this up, law abiding people will be without guns and ammo. Only the criminals will have guns and ammo. Thanks a lot!

I dont think all Democrats are sorry assed people. Im a Republican and have friends who are very pro 2nd amendment and are Democrats. They dont like these games their own party leaders in DC are playing.

I am wondering if they will start a ban on the self loading machines next. Maybe they can ban alcohol to stop all the DWI's and wrecks they cause or better yet ban gasoline so they can not drive. Of coarse that will never happen because they recieve too much TAX money off of those items.

This is very troubling

The gun grabbers have been like vultures waiting for something like this. How many more people have to die because of tightening gun and ammo laws?

Ammo and gun sales are up 50% in Colorado, too late Democratic Senator Frank Lautenberg and Democratic Representative Carolyn McCarthy. Jerks!

Laugh of the day/NEWSFLASH:

US 59 shut down for miles, and called a hazmat chemical spill. Firefighters, life flight, and EMS workers rushed to hospitals for "decontamination" (over contact with an "unknown chemical agent").

Yep, it was a foreign substance, alright (especially to those Cleveland bubba's): specifically, SOAP ingredients!!! Yes, Bubbaland has another national news item, to live down. ROFL LMAO

good luck stopping the ammo grab. Reportedly, Hillary Clinton is at the U.N. advocating that it be done, worldwide, by the U.N. Of course, they won't be getting down to the smaller towns anytime soon.
Look for the home break ins, robberies, and burglaries to skyrocket- as soon as they confirm that a neighborhood is disarmed (or have you forgotten how well informed the criminal element is, reading obituaries to pick burglary targets.)
